EXPLAYADOS

Digital photography
(2015—2016)

This project was my way of understanding a new culture after I moved from Venezuela (South America) to Barcelona (Europe). It grew naturally as I admired all the new and strange people that came, by the thousands, to Barcelona during the summer for its beaches. There is a strange and funny kind of beauty in this rare moment where we become completely vulnerable by choice yet we design our “stations”  to feel as comfortable as possible doing it.

“Usually this kind of pictures are very cruel to the people, this kind of moment where you are not at your best. The photographer here has taken interest in the pictures without being cruel, without being rude. It's charming, this kind of private moment that he took.”
